About Beledo:
Beledo’s newest album, Montevideo Jazz Dreams, is a soulful project
that features Randy Brecker on trumpet, Stefon Harris on vibraphone,
Andy Middleton on sax, Mark Walker and Manolo Badrena on drums,
Chris Komer on French horn, David Finck on upright bass and Jorge
Camiruaga on vibraphone.
An acomplished guitarist, pianist and composer originally from
Uruguay, South America - Beledo, has resided in the US now for
nearly 20 years. Long noted for his lively performances and masterful
technique, his music can best be described as “Contemporary Jazz
meets wild South American soul”.
Beledo has recorded, performed on stage or on he same bill with
the following artists: Stefon Harris, Joe Locke, Pedro Aznar, Tito Puente,
Marcus Miller, Celia Cruz, Gary Willis (bassist with Tribal Tech), Bill Berg
(drummer from Wayne Johnson Trio, Flim and the BB’ss), Kim Plainfield,
Joel Rosenblatt, and Anton Fig (the Late Show with David Letterman).
He toured and recorded in Argentina at top venues with Pedro Aznar,
Miguel Cantilo, Miguel Mateos and Ruben Rada.

Philpot, Mark Walker, Andy Middleton,
Jack Walrath, Chris Komer and
Jorge Camiruaga.
+ Tropical Tribute to the Beatles tour
featuring Tito Puente, Celia Cruz,
Tito Nieves and Cheo Feliciano.
+ While in California, Beledo’s band
Hemispheres performed at the
NAMM Show in Anaheim.

Desde La Torre “From the Watchtower”
contains Beledo’s USA
recording sessions from 1990 to 1999 in
New York and Los Angeles. It
features many great musicians from both
coasts: David Carpenter (bass),
Jonathan Joseph (drums), Mario
Rodriguez (bass),
Casey Scheuerell (ddrums), Kalani
(vvibraphone, percusion), Ann
Patterson (sax) and Matt Otto (sax).
Lejanas Serranias “Distant Hills”
resented live at The Theatre of he
National Library, Uruguay, South
America. This is World-Jazz
acoustic work that incorporates classic
Uruguayan musical forms
such as Triste, Milonga, Chimarrita, and
Candombe rhythms, as well
as Spanish flamenco styles.
Accomplishments:
+ Co-produced with Peter Aykroyd music
for the Warner Brothers film,
Nothing But Trouble starring Demi
Moore, John Candy, Dan Aykroyd
and Chevy Chase.
+ Beledo recorded with Pedro Aznar
(from Pat Metheny Group) on
the album, Fotos de Tokyo together with
pianist Mario Parmisano
(from Al Di Meola).
+ Performed and recorded with the group OPA featuring Hugo
Fattoruso and Ruben Rada, on the live
album called Opa En Vivo.
+ Here in he U.S., he recorded piano and
guitar for the Candombe
song "Speak To Me” by Bakithi Kumalo
from South Africa (bass layer
with Paul Simon, Herbie Hancock, Paul
Winter and Gloria Estefan),
included in his second solo album In
Front Of My Eyes released by
the label Siam Records.
+ Beledo was the musical director of he
Upside Down Boy. This
musical was the 2004 production of the
New York theatre and arts
education and organization Making
Books Sing with music
composed by Cristian Amigo.
+ He gave master class at he University
School of Music in
Montevideo offering his rerspective of
harmony, composition and
improvisation to classical music
students.
